Dependant work permit for my boyfriend

Hi all! I have an opportunity to work in Mauritius, my company will sort out my work permit for me but currently my boyfriend is does not have a job set up there yet. Is he able to come in on my permit as a dependent and then look for a job while he is there? Can one seek work if he is a dependent? If not what permit does he need to apply for in order to come over and then look for work?

Hello,

For your boyfriend to be able to come to Mauritius as your dependent, you will need at least a 'common-law partner' certificate.

Once he is in Mauritius, he can start looking for a job.
One cannot work as a dependent. A 'Work Permit' or an 'Occupation Permit' is required.
