The limits of cover of the Mauritian insurances are much to low (e.g. MUA max. 3.000.000 Rs) - I want to cover the highly cost cases.

No one else who can help with information on this question? 🙄

E.g., my search so far has revealed the following:
- Allianz Health Care: many poor reviews on Trustpilot due to slow or refused claims settlement
- AXA Global Healthcare: significant high-cost risks are excluded (kidney dialysis)
- Cigna (e.g. Silver): good, but quite expensive

Don't trust too much Trustpilot reviews regarding Allianz, I exchange regularly with them and you can trust them.

Cigna is good, a bit expensive, Axa is as well.

Have you enquired quotes to April International, Mondassur (the CEO was in Mauritius recently) or Regency (they're cheaper but I don't know how good they are)

If needed I know two international brokers who can surely advice you (and they won't charge you any extra penny for that)

The problem you are having is that you are looking form an International provider that only covers Mauritius. I am not sure that combination exists.

Perhaps there is a little misunderstanding:  I need it only for Mauritius, not for USA, not for any other country. But of course, if there is a good insurance covering more countries, that's okay too. No problem with that.

I think the challenge you have is that in your original requirements you asked for 'reliable international health insurance policy'.  In my limited experience an international policy will cover a large geographical area such as:

1. Africa
2. The world excluding the US etc.

However you only want them to cover Mauritius. I don't believe you will ever find an international health policy where the cover is restricted to Mauritius. I don't think such a product exists, but if you find one let me know.

covering in-patient care only, and I only need it for Mauritius, not for other countries.

Also, you are likely to find that local insurance policies are cheaper. In my experience,  the big players in international policies know how to overcharge epically.

Hi,

Perhaps you could try SWAN Health Insurance?  I have been with SWAN for 4 years and I have had a good experience with them so far (from both a cost and claims history record).  However, please note that I am not sure what their specific cover and costs are related to a pre-existing condition before joining.
