We moved with all our belongings and furniture but rentals are mostly furnished. Even a lot of new villas and apartments are furnished. At our first apartment we had to put all our furniture in storage (roughly Rs5000 p/m) but then we moved 6 months later to an unfurnished house. But for future moves, all we've been seeing are funished homes so bringing your furniture is not the best option. Furnished places also have fridge, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave. The adverts usually state what is included.

Thanks, I have recently received, from the Mauritian tax authority, the extract of the relevant legislation. I will post in due course.
