Hello and welcome

For a work visa (work permit or occupation permit) , you need to find an employer (as it is upon the employer to apply for the permit on your behalf and for the student visa here are the requirements : https://passport.govmu.org/passport/?page_id=580

No, one visa at a time !

What visa do you currently hold ?

since "Prospective students/trainees are allowed to travel to Mauritius only after their application for study/training in Mauritius would have been approved."

and a tourist visa can not be converted into a work permit or a student visa : Non-citizens travelling to Mauritius as tourists/visitors will not be issued any permit or extension of visas to follow studies/training courses.

Student visa. I came on a student visa and my course has been changed so I am now looking for full-time work while I study part-time what would that mean for my student visa if I now need a work Visa or will I not qualify for a work Visa because I already have a student Visa?

Hello Elias.

The university should have informed you about the change. They must have got you the student visa. I don't think it is easy to get a 'work' visa and then still study as a foreign student, but I may be wrong.

Why not ask the university itself if they have any openings? If you have come for a masters course, you may be qualified to teach and get paid a stipend rather than a salary. That might help.

Good luck, and keep us informed.
