Retired Residence Permit Form - Transfer Details Section

rspadinger

Hi Everyonen, I'm just in the process of applying for a Retirement Permit for Mauritius and on the main form (on the business.edbmauritius.org site), there is a section: "Transfer Details" and a value needs to be provided in the field: "Proposed Amount to be Transferred" - I'm not quite sure what I'm supposed to provide here - is this the minimum annual amount of $24000 or do I need to provide anything else here?

Thanks for your help.

@rspadinger- my understanding of it is..

That “Proposed Amount to be Transferred” field isn’t asking for anything complicated. It’s essentially your declared financial commitment to support yourself in Mauritius.

The key point: It’s not a strict calculation or a binding figure. It’s more a statement of intent to show you can comfortably fund your retirement.

As a baseline: The current expectation is around $2,000 per month or $24,000 per year.

So you’ve got a few sensible ways to approach it

• Keep it simple… put USD 24,000 per year (meets the requirement exactly)

• Slightly stronger application… USD 30,000 to 40,000 per year (shows a bit more comfort and credibility)

• If you’re planning a larger initial transfer… you can say something like..“USD 50,000 initial transfer, then USD 24,000 annually”

A couple of things to avoid

• Don’t leave it blank or vague

• Don’t put an unrealistically high number you can’t evidence

• Don’t overcomplicate it

Most important bit:  This figure isn’t enforced like a contract later. What matters is that you actually meet the minimum transfer requirement annually once approved.

If in doubt, you won’t go wrong with

USD 24,000 per year🙌🙌🙌
