Hi all,

We are a family of four, two boys aged 3 and 2, from the Netherlands. We are eager to relocate to Mauritius in April / May 2025, and are visiting this December to get a good understanding of the possibilities on this beautiful island. My husband and I are self employed fractional commercial directors. We would love to connect with people who have either moved here from EU and set up a remote business in Mauritius, or (might be a bit out there but hey) those who are looking for a house sitter for that particular time frame (December). We thought house sitting could be a great option to get a local sense and feel considering it's summer term..an win-win?

We are seeking a air-conditioned 3 bedroom (detached) house or villa with pool in a safe and quiet area, no specific location required.

Preferences (not mandatory):

Modern design

Beachfront/close to the beach

Quiet/residential neighbourhood, more expats than tourists.

Any help or recommendations would be highly appreciated! If there are any Dutch speaking people who'd like to connect, please do!

House sitting is not really popular here. I would suggest that you create an advert in the Housing in Mauritius section to receive offers for (short term rentals). You may also contact real estate agencies and read the following articles for tips + real estate specialised websites : Finding accommodation in Mauritius

Tips :

Feel free to discover the island if you can by renting airbnb for a couple weeks in the North and West to get a feel of island life in Mauritius.
