Need help moving to Italy?

Hi everyone,

I have been going through the posts on this forum and have seen lots of you that are looking for guidance with your relocation to Italy. I have lived in Italy since 1992 so feel free to send me a private message if you need some help with your move.

All the best,

Kim

Hi Kim,
My grandparents (on both sides) were born in Italy. They migrated to the US.
Do you know if I would be considered for dual citizenship?
I appreciate any help I can get.
When I read things about dual citizenship, I'm soooo confused.
Thank you,
David DeRose

Hi David,
for italian citizenship, I suggest you call or write  the italian closest to you, which I suppose, if you live in Las Vegas, if I am not wrong should be the one in Los Angeles, Ca, (it covers Southern California  (S. Luis Obispo, Kern, San Bernardino, Santa Barbara, Ventura, Los Angeles, Riverside, San Diego, Imperial Valley, Orange), Nevada, Arizona and New Mexico.)
Its website is https://conslosangeles.esteri.it/consol … scent.html
As italian citizenship is transmitted jus sanguinis, you may as well look on wikipedia
at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Italian_nationality_law it is written "Italian citizenship is granted by birth through the paternal line, with no limit on the number of generations, or through the maternal line for individuals born after 1 January 1948"
And good luck.

H i David,
I forgot to add "consulate", after 'call or write the Italian'

Is it okay if I go to my immigration lawyer . I basically had all the papers translated through the Italian consolate but then COVID hit and I am ready now to go through the process , are there she restrictions now because of COVID ? What about jobs ? Housing ? Insurance for health ?

How about introducing yourself to the forum first.  :dumbom:

Check out the Italy Guide located under "Discover" at the top of this page for visa and work information. Post your CV in the jobs section at the top of this page.

To be brutally honest unless you are an EU citizen or have a unique skill you will not get a job. Easier, quicker and cheaper to hire EU citizens.

Anyone having a difficulty in finding a job ?
