Spouse Visa - ILR - extension query

Hello, my husband an i were married abroad. He arrived in the UK on the 04/02/2017 via a spouse visa. We applied for the 2.5 year extension and were successful on December 2019. I understand we now need to apply for the ILR. I've started getting the paper work. But i'm slightly confused as the BRP (British resident permit) expires June 2022. So does that mean i have to apply 30 days before June 2022? Or is it 2.5 years after December 2019 or is it 30 months (according to the BRP)?
