I like Bansko a lot, very quaint little town. With great trails/scenery. You should enjoy it there!

It's kinda coming up for peak season now, might not be the best time to find long term rentals at good prices. I checked BulgarianProperties and they have nothing available. And, as you said, the short term stuff is getting expensive (and will get worse in a few weeks when ski season kicks off).

Throwing some names at ya, maybe... OLX.bg or bansko.apartments or banskopropertyexperts or banskonomadapartments.

Yeah I hear you regarding peak season. Wouldn’t mind sticking around to see what it’s like in full swing but I’m travelling all of December, maybe I’ll revisit in the new year. Didn’t think of olx, I’ll have a look…

Also slightly off topic but how legit is bulgarianproperties.com? Always comes up top in Google, been wondering what they’re like to deal with

BulgarianProperties are definitely legit. Big, lots of listings all over Bulgaria, and very focused on selling to expats (so English/Russian listings, multilingual agents). I have bought a couple of properties through them, and given them a POA. Maybe a little more expensive because of the expat focus. But I still have my house and flat and, overall, very pleased with them.

As they have lots of listings they're usually good as a quick bit of research on a particular area to see what kind of stuff is available, at what price.

But there are other good agents, and some that are more niche focused on cheaper village properties, or Bansko or Sunny Beach, say. These smaller agents (and OLX) might have lower prices / lower commissions.

Chris - look at Bower Properties in Bansko. As the name implies its a British Business and been there about 15 years. Ask for Debbie who is the owner.

If you are still looking for an apartment to rent in Bansko go to facebook and find Damian Broker . It's a friend of ours. MY husband is looking for a family house for us but is currently staying in Bansko in on of his apartments .

He also rent and sell luxurious apartments in Sveti Vlas if anyone is interested , my hubby was staying in on of them too and let me say it's a piece of heaven on Earth there
