What can I do to move in with my girlfriend in UK as a EU citizen?

Hello!

I am Polish citizen and current resident. My girlfriend is British and lives permanently in Scotland. We have met in 2017 and lived together in USA for around 4-5 months each summer in USA we also have worked together in nearby cities in France for couple of months in 2019.

As a gay couple we cannot move and feel safe in my country and also we do not have right to be recognized as a partners here due to the fact that Poland has the worst laws for LGBT couples.

We do not plan to get married soon (my family doesn?t support me being gay and it makes it harder) but we wish to finally live together (covid situation made it impossible for us to move in together sooner). As it is hard to find a visa sponsorship for tier 2 visa is there any way for us to get a permission for me to move and start our life together in UK? I do have potential to be hired on the terms on skilled visa but finding job is almost impossible post Brexit.

We do have proof that we lived together in USA and proofs of our relationship over years. Any advice on what steps we could take would be appreciated.

The most obvious solution would be for you to move to Scotland on a spousal visa. The basic condition for this is that your first get married/enter into a civil partnership, but you say that is not part of your plans. A legally valid wedding does not have to involve the family, nor be a big celebration, but does provide a piece of paper that unlocks visas and various other rights. Alternatively, if you could provide documentary evidence that you had lived together for at least two years then you could be treated as if you were married.
