Hi everyone

I am looking for advice.

I am moving to Agadir this summer with my 4 kids (12, 10, 8 and 3yrs old) from London.

My goal is for them to learn the Darija moroccan arabic and also chleuh (berber local dialect).

I thought ideally they should go school as mixing with moroccan kids will help for the arabic aspect of it.

My kids don't speak French and understand only few instructions from me at times.

I have been refused by schools (via email) who said my kids could never keep up given the fact they don't know Arabic and French.

My kids are usually home schooled but I would not mind them going to school to socialise and learn the languages faster.

I went through many old posts here from French families and English speaking families...

I am looking for advice from those who have already gone through the same situation.

How long do kids take to blend in? Is it psychologically ok for them to be submerged into such a new environment?

I really need them to be submerged as with my moroccan family everyone speaks to them in English so it is not helpful at all.

I also saw AGI which is similar to a small school following the American curriculum and thought combined with classes at the mosaic French institute would be okayish... but that won't give them the darija arabic which is something essential for us.

I welcome French and English comments please... many thanks for reading me.

Fadma.
