Cost of Living in Russia in 2021

Hello everybody,

We would like to take stock of the changing cost of living in Russia, particularly in your city or region. The aim is to measure the impact that the health crisis may have had on your expenses.
This will help other expatriates on the spot and all those who would like to relocate there in the near or more distant future.

> How much does petrol cost or how much does it cost to use the various public transport services?

> How much do you spend on average on your weekly groceries in Russia? Have you noticed a change in the price of staple foodstuff?

> What is the price of your health insurance? How much does seeing a general practitioner or specialist cost?

> How much are your children's school fees? What about the cost of childcare?

> How much do you spend on your regular bills (water, electricity, mobile phone package, internet subscription etc.) on a monthly basis?

> What budget do you set aside for your leisure activities in Russia? What is the price of a cinema or concert ticket? How much does a subscription to a gym cost?

These are the typical costs to live in Kazan.

In general it cost between 45 to 50 thousand rubles ($600-650) to live here.

Renting a 1 bedroom apartment in Kazan typically costs around 20,000 ($265.00) per month

It's not necessary to own a car in Kazan, most people use the local transport which usually only cost 30 rubles per ride or 40 cents. All transport cost the same, buses, tram, metro, and local trains. Average taxi ride is about 200 rubles ($2.63)

Typically groceries cost around 3000-4000 rubles per week  which is about $45-50.00 per week.

Healthcare in Russia is free. But many people use private practitioners which aren't expensive either.

Utilities generally are included in the cost of the rent,  one bedroom apartment costs is around 3 to 4 thousand rubles per month ($40-50). For high speed internet is costs 400 rubles ($5.27) per month. Mobile phone costs around 500 rubles ($7.00)  per month.

A monthly gym membership costs around 5000 rubles per month, a yearly membership cost approximately 20,000 rubles per year.

At a normal restaurant it cost approximate 2000-3000 rubles ($25-30)  for 2 people
