I am in the process of moving back to the USA and would like to take all of our household items back to the USA.
When we returned to the States from Italy 12 years ago, we brought back our personal belongings (including several dozen pairs of Italian shoes 
) and household items which we were emotionally attached to (paintings, artisan glassware, handmade linen, etc.) on the flight. We paid baggage fee for 17 extra boxes. We calculated the cost between that and a moving company and our way came out better.
