I would suggest going to meetup.com and looking for groups that interest you and attending their meetups there are so many so don't limit yourself you are bound to meet many like minded individuals that way

That's a great start and hopefully you and your friends grew and changed together. That can be a challenge as we begin to get older then views and preferences can take us in different directions. Are you still close with them? Or get to visit with them? Either way it's always good to put yourself out there. Meetup groups is a great way bc it allows you anonymity and you don't have to make a big time commitment... If you don't like it move on to another group until you find a group with people you enjoy.
