French citizenship and Marriage

Hi all - I am about to apply for French Citizenship and I obviously hope I will be successful. If I am and have a French passport, thus being a member of the European Union with the associated rights does my wife also qualify and automatically also qualify as a French Citizen? I understand that you can qualify if you marry a French citizen but does the same apply if you are already married?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Many thanks - Keith Waving

To obtain new nationality is always subject to investigation of any candidate. And except for all children, each case is different

Hi Keith,
Unfortunately, no - you have to be a French citizen before your marriage for your wife to declare as a spouse of a French national.
She would have to go through all the same filing that you did.
