US Citizen seeking full time work as an English teacher in HCMC

Hello. I have just joined this site and I am still trying to learn to navigate it. My husband and I are looking to move to Vietnam (Saigon) in the next year, and want to know where to start searching for work as English teachers. I have a university degree and would fend well as an ESL teacher. Any advice from experienced expats from the US to Vietnam is welcome!

On this website, you can search the job section twice:

Under "Ho Chi Minh City":

https://www.expat.com/en/jobs/asia/viet … acher.html

Also under "Saigon":

https://www.expat.com/en/jobs/asia/viet … acher.html

Sometimes the listings are different between the two.

You can also post your ad there.

Good luck!

Well, you can start by contacting the schools. There are lots of ads on this website and you can post your CV if you want to:

https://vietnamteachingjobs.com

In addition, you can just search online as these days, nearly every school has a facebook page or website, for example:

69 language schools listed for Vietnam
https://www.eslbase.com/schools/vietnam

Moreover, Facebook has a number of groups/pages such as "English Teaching Jobs in Vietnam", "English Teaching Jobs in HCM Vietnam", etc.

There also "international schools" of varying quality and accreditation that usually offer better conditions than language schools.

Anyway, like any field of work, you should network with potential employers so that when you arrive, you already have some interviews lined up. However, don't agree to anything until you get here. You don't need to have a job before arriving so wait until you can see with your own eyes what you are getting into before making any decisions.
