Greetings Team, does anyone have any experience/recommendations with regard to currency transfers. There are so many scams out there I'm nervous to transfer a large sum of money to someone I don't know. TIA, Trevor Stemp

Trevor.

As you say there have been cases of transfer companies going bust so due diligence is required, which hopefully will result in no nasty surprises

When I transfer money to Philippines i do so from Nationwide U.K.

Be aware in Spain it is not unusual for the receiving bank to charge commission just for the deposit.

With my bank when I opened the account I negotiated a maximum charge.  Had I not done that I could have had a nasty shock as I did the first time I did it 30+ years ago with another bank.  I learnt from that  !
