Hello everyone,

Budget is an important consideration when moving to Egypt. Ideally, expats would settle down in a city in Egypt where the cost of living is low but where they could also enjoy a decent quality of life. Would you be able to give a few tips to someone planning a move to Egypt by answering the questions below?

What are the cheapest cities in Egypt?

Why are they cheap? What singles them out as a city where the cost of living is low?

What is the average budget for one person living in these cities?

Is it easy to find a job as an expat in these cities? What is the overall quality of life like?

Are they expat friendly? Would you recommend these cities to someone looking to settle in Egypt?

Please share your experience,

Hi Mohamedaladl,

Thank you for your feedback. For someone who wishes to work in Egypt, the capital city would offer more opportunities, right ?

Of course the capital has job opportunities in addition to the fact that the foreign person is growing opportunities, but the best is to start own business

Egypt is the most difficult place to start a business. First, they said you must bring into to the country 35,000 dollars and you must have 40,000 LE. How do you bring in the money when no bank will open an account for you if you don't have resident permit.
2. You must have an Egyptian partner who must have a controlling share of 51 percent. Most Egyptians wants you to pay all the money without contributing anything. What guarantee do you have that after registration the Egyptian may not ask out and by implcation 51 percent of the money you contributed.
3. They said if you invest 50,000  dollars you will given resident permit. You bought goods worth 150, 000 dollars, if you're lucky you get a three month visa extension.
