Consultancy in Belgium 12 months ("working" from abroad)

Hello everyone

Hoping someone can help me a bit on this forum.

I recently moved to Brussels for a 12 month contact as a consultant in a Dutch NGO located in Brussels. I will be working as a consultant for the NGO and have to invoice them every month for my salary. I have a sole proprietorship company in Norway and I was thinking about using that to invoice, which also means that I will have to pay tax in Norway. I am a bit lost on how I should go forward here in Belgium. Do I have to register here in Belgium and then have to pay duel tax, or is that not necessary? Do I have to register in my local municipality?

I am so lost. I am entirely grateful for any advice I can get :D Perhaps even over a glass of beer? My treat!

You will need to open a VAT number in Belgium and this is where you will be required to pay your taxes as your contract is 1 year (over 183 days). You cannot invoice using a foreign VAT, this is illegal now. You need to have residence in Belgium and then get a national number in order to proceed.
Good luck
