Guidance in regards to salary

Hi Everyone

I have been offered a role in Bahrain and wanted to get some advice/guidance.

I am Belgian national living in UK working in the water/wastewater sector as a Process Engineer. I have a PhD in wastewater treatment from a UK university as well.

The company has offered me 1500 BD (marginal increase on my current salary) plus 500 BD housing allowance. They are also providing return tickets every 18 months for my family and covering health insurance. They are not paying for my daughter's education.

Is this kind of offer average?

Looking forward to your replies.

Regards
Ahsan

Can't say if this is average or the par for your industry.  However, schooling and medical is literally a must as the marginal increase on your salary will be quickly eaten up by these costs.   You need to negotiate with your company on these items as an EU national, I would assume that these are covered by your government if you live there.

Also, return tickets are given every 1 year.  That is the standard.

Lastly, the 500 housing allowance will get you an apartment in an ok locality (not a good one) and you definitely won't be able to afford a villa.
