Bocas Town questions

Post new topic

We are planning on a couple of trips this year to scope out where we would like to retire, but have basically made Bocas Del Toro our #1 choice so far.  I would love to live on an outlying island in that area.  There are a couple of things that I'm unsure of, and hopefully someone can give me some clear insight.  1) How to get there:  Is it easier to fly into Panama City or San Jose' to catch the shuttle flight into Bocas?  2) When taking your boat into Bocas from the islands, is there a public dock that you can tie up to?  If not, how does that work?  3) We wanted to rent for about 6 months before we bought....but finding advertisements for rentals isn't as easy as I thought it would be.  Is there a super secret website or something for rentals?

Thanks in advance!!

Jeff
