non residents tax - 6 months

Hi guys, I am living in malta for 4 years, recently discovered that anyone who starts working now is paying 30% tax for first 6 moths... does anyone know smth about it? Does it start counting since you start working or since you become a resident? Thanks for any info

It's the non resident tax I guess.

Yes, I also heard that some companies put you on the non-resident scheme until you can provide evidence for residency in Malta. You can claim back the difference with the next tax return statement.
