Hi , living in Braila, interested in buying a house in the Predelut area. Any information about this area appreciated. I am retired . Not looking for work. Want to relax and enjoy life. I moved from Canada to Romania. Fell in love with this country from the first time I visited in 2009. Thanks

Hi. Don't know a lot about that area, only been as a tourist, but it's highly developed for tourism so naturally prices are probably a little above average. If you look on sites such as OLX you'll get an idea of the going rates, probably around 100K Euro for a villa, but depends on size and location obviously. Some surrounding villages might have older country houses for half that.

From an administrative point of view, if you don't hold an EU passport, you can't own land, although you can actually own the house built on the land. If this is the case, you'll have to open up a company and buy the land through in its name.
