Have you thought of trying posting your question to the Malta Forum, where you'll get answers from people who are actually there?

No matter where you may be in the blog at the moment if you click on the FORUM tab in the menu bar you come right back to the main Expat Forum page. If you scroll down to the bottom of the main Expat Forum page you'll see a list of all of our national forums, divided into geographic regions. Just click on any country name and you will open that country's forum. It's really just that simple.
