MUST DO's and NEVER DO's in the Netherlands?!

What are the things that you have to do,and, at the same time, what are the stuff that you should not even think about doing if you are a fresh settler in the Netherlands?

Hello,

first of all, you should visit windmills. they r really exotic. they have a lot of famous cheese such as old amsterdam cheese, you should try that also their stroopwafels are really good. Also i would recommend you to visit 'Mini Holland' where is located in Scheveningen. if you are interested in anatomy, there is very interesting human body museum in Leiden that's called Corpus Museum which is close to Scheveningen. it is worth to see.

If youre eating on the street and a person say "eet smakelijk", that means directly translated "eat tasty" so make sure to say thank you.
Make sure to go and say hallo to your nabours!!!
Keep inmind that nederlands people are very private also, so dont talk about personal stuff. Other than that they almost always have their door open for a visit.
Also nederlands people have a very sarcastic way of humor, so dont be offended!
If a nabour comes over, invite them in and ALWAYS have coffe or tea or something to offer. If you dont youre rude.
If you look  a strager in the eyes as you pass by and he \ she also looks into your eyes its common to say hello.
Depending on where you live and what your place has to offer you should go to the gemeente huis and get a catalouge of what your city has to offer. Maybe some local museums telling the history of where you live? Take a channal ride if there are a touring boat? Or rent a kano yourself and paddle away?
You should taste the sirupwaffels (stroopwafels), I love them!
If you live a place near a flower field you should go look at the flower fields!!! Its stunning!
Good luck and welcome to Holland!

Smaller villages and see the traditional life?

Wellll...admire the old Dutch architecture, see the skinniest house in Holland in Amsterdam from a tour boat, eat first run Herring,Oliebollen,Hagelslaag chocolate sprinkles on bread for breakfast and Stoopwafels.Visit the Moses Bridge in Halsteren, drive through Friesland and view the green pastureS,Friesian horses, sheep and cows, count windmills the bulk of them are here in Friesland, bike ride through the streets on the many bike paths with your head on a swivel so as to not hit or be hit by another bike, car or scooter !
What not to do? Walk the streets oblivious to the millions of bikes as they seem to come out of nowhere and everywhere. Dont expect the courtesy of an excuse me or sorry ,do expect to get bumped or leaned over and into in the stores by some of the women as it happens here a lot, expect that paying for groceries with a 100 euro bill will make the people in line behind you angry and you will be suspect of drug selling. Bank card with pin is used for everything here and cash is nearly obsolete in Dutch culture, dont expect to make friends if you land in the Friesian area as the dutch people are very close and closed with thier own  people .It is near impossible to become one of them or even in thier group of friends .This is worse in Frielsland for some reason . Amsterdam,Den Haaag etc are much more receptive to outsiders because of the higher numbers of expats .Dont expect to be able to use manufacturer coupons at the grocery stores as they do not exist here. Dont expect to find Benedryl Allergy or any of the P.M. sleep meds here .Just a few do and dont's ;-)
