Hi there

Really looking for some groups or such, anyone out there know any groups or such that I can connect with, would be great to hear from you

Hi girls I usually bring my baby and 2 year old to tal ibragh mother and toddler group it's opposite the church just after chemist. It's a good mix of foreigners and maltese. Otherwise playzone in sliema would be another option.

Hello bex22.

Welcome to Expat.com! :)

For more visibility, a new thread has been created from your message on the Malta forum. The other one was dated 2011 and was quite old.

Thank you,
Aurélie

Oh right, Playzone might be easier for me, where is it exactly?
and any particular days/times better than others?

Damsel

The expat mums are at Playzone, on Tower Road, Sliema, on Monday and Wednesdays from 2.30ish till around 5pm. Most of us are British. Welcome to join us:) We also meet for other activities with the kids too such as going to the park, playdates, picnics etc. And the mums meet sometimes for coffee and cake, currys, and the occasional wild night in Paceville!
Inbox me if you want anymore info.

Oh brilliant, will definately try and make it. I'm rubbish at finding things in Sliema, I live in Marsascala and don't go there that much you see, but I'm sure I'll find it lol
My five year old son, is so excited to go, he goes to school here and speaks a mixture of English & maltese there, Maltese cos he wants to commuicate with the other kids and English because he prefers to speak it, so he really happy about chance to make friends with other native English-speaking kids.
Being as we're quite far away and I don't drive you see, we probably won't be able to make it as often as I'd like to during term times, but do you all still do this during the Summer?

bex22

Won't be able to do the cakes and curries as I am Gluten-free, but definately the playdates and such for the kids. I think I will be hard pushed to also find a gluten-free / Celiac group lol

bex22

Hello Aurélie

ahh ok thank-you, I was worried about that lol

bex22

Hello
Just wondering do you guys do anything in the South, is just i have a son that hates travelling and asking him to do 3 hours travelling in total to Sliema, after a day at school when afterwards he is just dreaming of getting home to his computer games is probably not going to happen? Any of the Marsascala expats for instance thinking about arranging some kind of get togethers?

Hi we are moving to Malta from Singapore in July and have a five year old son who we would like to socialise with other children his age out with school. We are Scottish and would love to meet other people to have play dates with. Can anyone meet up? It would have to be after school so I'm not sure how long it takes from San Andrea to Sliema?

bex22

Hi there
I also have a 5 year old boy and I'm half maltese but from London originally so we speak English. I'd love to meet up for playdates, as although my son goes to school here in Malta, he prefers to speak English so loves having mates he can speak in English to. But is it st. Andrews that you mean, that you will be living in? I live in Marsascala you see, on the south coast, but never really got into the local expat community where I live, and am looking to meeet up for play dates and such with expat mums/kids a little closer to home if possible, as it's a long travelling time for me to get him to Sliema after school it's true, but would definately try, and we have long school summer holiday here so always the summer

Hi, we will have a car so I would be more than happy to meet somewhere during the holidays or weekends. We have an apartment not far from Mosta for six months until we find something more permanent. Our son will be attending summer school to make the transition in to school easier but he will not be going every day. I can contact you once we arrive as I will be on my own for a couple of weeks in July as my husband will be offshore and would love to meet new people with children the same age.

bex22

Ahh that would be great, and there are some great parks and stuff, in Pembroke, in Sliema even the family nature park we have in Marsascala, and the chance to make friends always helps the transition for kids. Are you guys moving overe due to work? or just wanna try life in the Med?
Okay, i will look forward to hearing from you once you get settled, good luck with the move, I hope everything goes smoothly for you :)
