Hi,

if someone asks you the best reasons for making the choice to live and stay in Hungary, what would be your top 5?

Thanks in advance for participating,

Julien

In my case:
1) cheap houses in rural locations
2) Overall low cost of living
3) Good climate, winters are cold but short, summers are long and warm
4) People are friendly, helpful and polite
5) Affordable health care

1. Excellent public transport in Budapest and to regional areas
2. Lovely parks and gardens to relax in
3. Very dog-friendly!
4. Low cost of living
5. Great weather

I just came back from checking my post box and heard crunching sounds coming from one of my big walnut trees. I looked to locate the sound and also saw bits of something falling from the tree. I walked closer and there was a tiny black squirrel munching away at a walnut. It was quite a big meal for the little creature so it was still eating the same walnut 10 minutes later when I came back in the house. It is little moments like that which make me glad I came to rural Hungary. I've always felt it a privilege when such wildlife choose to share my space, although I could manage quite well without the flies and mosquitoes!

That would be:
1. Hospitality;
2. Relaxed mentality;
3. Space and nature;
4. Food and drinks;
5. Low cost, high value.
