Is it safe to take a regular taxi from the airport to my hotel late at night?
Also: I will arrive next week and have only US dollars. Last time going to the airport I paid $20 US for the taxi. Does anyone know if that is still the going rate?

Never took taxi from airport late at night but have not heard any horror stories like in some countries of "one way taxi rides to robbery and murder". Id suggest making sure it's a marked taxi though and that it's lined up along the curb with the other taxi's. As to price, we've paid as much as Gs 150,000 for taxi ride from airport downtown ($30 at time), so the $20 is probably not bad.

Thanks. My lawyer is sending a taxi friend of his to the airport and the guy wants $32. I having a feeling that's way high. At today's exchange rate (Saturday morning) that is 149,760 Pyg.
Does anyone else have input on this? Thanks.
