Storming ahead with another gathering!

Hello lovely expats!!

After another fun night last Thursday, Lanchester & I are organising another gathering. We all had a lot of dancing & drinking but the realisation that a school night probably diminished the numbers slightly. So, as the subject suggests, we are now storming ahead to have another event - this time, for when the working week is over and hopefully when more people are in a drinking / partying mood.

DETAILS
Date: Friday 27th January

Time: 9:00pm onwards

Where:
Barcode
Theodor-Heuss-Str. 30
Stuttgart

Transport: For those driving - you can always googlemap the address. For those taking the S-Bahn or U-Bahn, googlemap but it looks like you get off at Stadtmitte & walk there pretty easily.

Once again, I hope to see old & new faces there. Oh & if Calator could kindly "stick" this event, it would be much appreciated. :)

Hey Hula Girl,

Here you are again!  Wow fast and furious!
Friday is looking too good to be real…

Awesome....Count me in for this 1 ;)..

He he he!
@ Hulla Girl: Thanx a lot 4 coming back so soon..
I am in , will be there on time!

ich bin dabei :D

Hello Everyone,
Hula Girl and I thought it would be good to hit a restaurant at 7 pm on Friday before we go to the Barcode (at 9 pm) as not to turn up whimpering with wide eyes and on empty stomachs. She came up with the tantalizing idea of us going all out Indian in Stuttgart West.

So here is the real deal if you want to get a few laughs in early and feast on indian food like a queen/king: You seriously want to come and I have forgotten or not already asked you? Then drop me a message and I can check the reservation situation and send you the details. Newcomer's welcome!

Hi Everybody,
I have been asked questions about the Barcode, so listen up if you are interested:

We will turn up at 9 pm. It is free to get in!

We will meet upstairs in the lounge, so walk in and you will easily find us in this smaller area where 70ies music and the sort is played. Here we can chat, chill or dance between the sofas.

Later if we like we can go downstairs. Here it is lager and louder with more electro music (house, nujazz). If anyone feels the need to groove, shake and move there is a dance floor here ☺

Hi Everybody,

At the moment there are 17 of us going all out Indian on Friday at 7 pm with room for growth. This delightful Indian experience may be like travelling to the moon and back for some of us, so hold on to your seats. Looks like we will have 3 Indians at the table, I know they will be more than happy to give us advise on how to savour the flavour of arguably the best food in town. A few new faces will be popping up to surprise us as usual.

Glad so many of you are can make it and really looking forward to some intriguing conversation and lots of fun! For those of you going straight to the Barcode as of 9 pm, see you there! Now it`s back to you again, Hula Girl.

Don't think I can make this week/weekend at all due to work commitments. See you at the next event!

Hello All

Sorry I've been slightly absent - work commitments & all. Of course reiterating Lanchester's undoubted excitement, very happy that we've got such a high number coming to the meal.

As you all know, organising a dinner event requires incredible skill - the logistics of which I'm sure Lanchester has thought about. In any event, please try to arrive on time or around the time of 7pm so that everyone can order & eat together. There's nothing more frustrating that a group of hungry partyers waiting for another group of partyers to arrive so everyone can eat. I think maybe we can have a cut-off time so that people can start ordering and then the rest can arrive & order a bit later?

I would also like to suggest that we don't all sit on one big table as that tends to mean only being able to socialise with about 3 people. It may be nicer if we all can split into smaller tables of 6 & then we can get to know a good size group.

Lanchester, thoughts?

I think our events are getting bigger & better as more expats join in the fun. I've certainly had a great time so far meeting new expats. So, on that happy note - I hope to see at least 17 of you there. :)

Hi Everybody,

Firstly thanks to Hula Girl for those wonderful words and expressing her undying commitment to a dangerously enjoyable evening!

Oh yes, Hula Girl, I could not agree more, the logistics of organising this kind of evening are just absolutely mind boggling, I am still trying to figure this all out?! I will be turning up at 6:30 pm to greet any welcome early birds so do come on time. Work commitments allowing of course. ☺

Now, Hula Girl you mentioned seating, I hope this does not turn into a food fight, but I was thinking more on tradition lines with a long table and you at the head of it giving a speech. I just hope we can work out our differences.

Ganesha Restaurant (Indian)
Rotebühlstraße 155
70197 Stuttgart-WEST (careful not Ost as there are two of these Restaurants in STG!)

How to get to the restaurant: With public transport get off at „Schwabstraße“ then just walk straight up the same street heading away from Stuttgart, crossing seyfferstraße on your way. It is on the right about 200 meters away from the „Schwabstraße“ stop.

---
For those of you going straight to the Barcode, we will, if needed, be parachuting in around 9 pm.

Thanks for all you're interest in the event, I am looking forward to seeing you all tonight!

Hi Everybody,

I am new in this forum and also new in Germany, I am French and I am living near to Stuttgart for the moment, I am here for work. May I join your group please ??

Simo

Hi Simo4500,
Welcome to Stuttgart and Thanks for you interest! Perhaps you want to come along to the next event this coming Friday. I don`t know if you are into climbing or would just like to try it out? Then why not join us?

Hi Everyone,
I hope those of you that came along enjoyed yourselves on Friday and Thanks for taking part! Hula Girl and I certainly thought it was almost up to our ridiculously inflated standards.

Anyone interested in climbing on Friday? Yes? Then check out the link below and if you are thinking of coming contact Calator, this way he knows how many punters are coming:
