Hi,

can a foreigner buy property in Scotland?

If so, is it complicated? What is the process of purchasing a property in Scotland?

Any tips for buying property, such as a check-list of items to verify ?

Thanks in advance for participating!

Hi Christine

If anything, it is still much easier to buy a property in Scotland than, say, France. It used to be very easy before the recession with banks lending up to 100% so no deposit was even required to buy a house!

It is a bit more difficult now and you'll definitely need a deposit. The main thing is to demonstrate that you have a regular income and a good credit history (no overdraft, etc).

Then it all depends if the property you want is a fixed price or price over.

Good luck
