Does anyone know the 6-month clean title of ownership ruling for car importation? I mean, at the time of paperwork submission for the Visa application, can the date of a clean car title become valid on the day of car entry into Portugal, or does the valid date have to be exact at the time of paperwork submission?

Thank you so much for your attention and participation.

i am also considering to bring a car over. However many on expat.com have said it wasn't worth it, so I am curious if anything has changed???

Janicecallant,

Have you shopped the car prices in Portugal? Cars are costly for what you get in return for value.

My only reason for bringing my car is because it is relatively new, has low mileage, and to replace it in Portugal would be crazy expensive...

There's a couple of online English language Portugese newspapers which have ads in the back from companies specialise in moving  vehicles between countries and doing the paperwork. You could ask them your question.  Vehicles tend to be more expensive here and the one tax reduced import for new residents is worth going for - one thing to check is if similar models of car are common here so parts and local garages can be used.

Strontium,

Thank you for the information. The transport of the car has been arranged, as for the make and model, Audi is a common vehicle throughout Europe. I won’t have much of an issue should I need repair services.
