I did a civil marriage in Bahrain back in 2012. I now live in Ireland. I only have a copy of the marriage certificate, and the courts here are not accepting it. They want the original document, which I no longer have.
Is it possible to get it without being there in person? e.g through a solicitor etc

You will have to contact a lawyer and ask. I don't know about the recent process but in the past, doing so, was a long and covoluted affair which involved power of attorney (apostilled) and many hoops/hurdles.
