Hello everyone and welcome on board, Phaedravassiliou,

Please note that I have removed some off-topic posts from this thread.

I would suggest that you read the Finding a job in Nice article to gather as much information as possible. You may also create your CV in the Jobs in Nice section of the website.

Can you tell us what kind of jobs you are looking for ? Your qualifications ?

All the best

Since Brexit, it's not as easy as it used to be to work freely. Do you speak French at all?

Now that the UK has left the EU, any British person wanting to move to France after Brexit must apply for a Long-Stay Visa Serving as a Residency Permit (Visa Long Séjour valant Titre de Séjour or VLS-TS). It is the status of this visa that determines whether or not you can work, and what jobs you will and won’t be allowed to do.

Applications for the VLS-TS are considered on an individual basis, but you are unlikely to be granted a work visa without a work contract or a strong business proposal. Companies hiring British workers will have to prove that the job cannot be done by a French person (as with workers hired from other non-EU countries) and there will no longer be mutual recognition of professional qualifications, so you may find that your UK qualifications are no longer valid in France.

I hope this is of help

Thank you SimCityAT.  I didn’t want to be the “UK is no longer in the EU” person.  But yes, first order of priority will be the visa.   As far as finding an English speaking job in France…. Not impossible I suppose but it definitely (seriously) limits your options (on top of the visa aspect).  Not to put too fine a point on it but….  If I’m a French person with no English, what are my chances of finding a job in the UK?

You should direct that question to the England Forum.

But I shall respond here. Sadly to say you will have a very slim chance of finding employment. As this has to do with England, please post your questions there. Or if it's better for you you can ask on the French part of Expat.com. This will take you there

My bad.

I am a French citizen living in the US for the last 20 years and have no desire to move to the UK, it was purely a rhetorical question.

Tanuki714

So I suppose my answer was more akin to “if you want to move to France, why won’t you learn the language”.  Except I was trying to be nice about it.
