Hi. Is it ok to share a blog about being an expat in France on the forum?
Thanks.

Hello Clare,

Welcome to Expat.com

You can submit your blog in our dedicated blog directory : Blogs from expats in France

Cheers

Ok, thanks.

Hi,
I'd like to post about a "Walking Football Association" in Brittany, France.  It's a very popular sport in the UK for those of a 'certain age' but virtually unknown in France.
Can I do this please and, if so, where is the appropriate place to do so.
Thanks, Alex

Greetings

i am trying to understand if the forum is country based or region based, so if for example i seek something in a specific area there are sub-forums.
Thanks in advance for the help

Welcome Tsopanos

Each country has a Forum, then it is split into many Sub Forums which are normally the major town of that country. You can also give it a topic, like, Visa, Work etc... I hope that helps.

Thank you

Good morning,
Does matters relating to Brexit or indeed any comment on, say, French or British government legislation come under your 'Topics relating to politics or religion won't be accepted'?

Many thanks.

Hello Euston,

Indeed, topics related to politics or religion in general based on facts are accepted on the forum. However, comments, criticisms, judgements are not tolerated.

So if I, for example, say Brexit is bad that won't be acceptable, is that right?

Would you be kind enough to reply to my question,

Regards, Ken

@Euston.

I suggest you open a new thread on the topic you are seeking information on.
This thread is about the forum code of conduct and has nothing to do with brexit.

My question is about the Code of Conduct. Your code seems a little ambiguous. Can I talk about politics and Religion or not? Your Code of conduct states specifically that comments won't be accepted on the subject(s)

Well Brexit is political, can I make a comment or not?

Hi Euston,

We do not encourage members to talk about politics and Religion on the forum as they are sensitive topics and can be easily get off topic and dispute between members. Please send me a PM if you have more questions or contact the team.

Thank you.

You haven't answered my question. Sending a PM would be pointless.

Try it, if it is not accepted it will be removed, simple.

Hi Euston and welcome to the Forum.

I'm not a moderator but am one of the "experts" here that help people navigate themselves to their chosen country or destination around the world, so quite frequently deal with Brexit issues; by necessity in some cases when people ask us questions related to Brexit.  I've started a sticky on the subject in the UK Forum.  If you consider that Brexit is nowhere near being the done deal, then anyone's opinions at the moment are just that, an opinion and many people will have one.  What we do like are facts and if people post some facts on the appropriate Forum, then we all learn; so if you have any facts about Brexit, then I for one would be interested in reading them.

So we don't do politics unless it's a specific issue may affect an individual's question and even then, it's about the issue, not whether anybody thinks it's a good or bad thing.  At the end of the day, we're here to help people, not make it hard.

Hope this helps.

So, in short, what you are saying is that you don't wan't, indeed won't print, opinions or views on any given subject. I thought the idea of a forum was just that.i.e. discussion and an exchange of views and opinions. It seems I was wrong.
With respect it makes for A very boring forum!!

Hi again.

No, what appears in the Forum is totally up to its members, but if it breaches the T&C's, it will be moderated until it does.  The moderators are pretty relaxed about most things; perhaps the best way to find out is if you have an issue with Brexit that is expat related, then start a post about it and we'll see how it goes.

Hope this helps.

Euston
read the posts

Well actually, whilst not appearing to be pedantic, what appears on the forum is not up to its members! Not if you can simply delete it because you don't like it! However I will take your suggestion and start a new topic.

No, we can delete content that does not comply with the T&C's, not because we feel like it, or we disagree with it.

I have responded to your new topic. :)
