The work culture in Belize

I haven't actually started work yet. What I've seen so far is Belizeans are hard workers. As you meet them, I find people who work 6X12 work weeks and don't even fuss about it.


The most difficult thing so far is Belize time. I've never had a meeting actually start on time. Email replies can take more than a business day. Or two. Of course, Belize time isn't a secret. But even though I know, I find myself wondering "oh no, did I piss them off?" when I don't get an immediate response.


But aside from that, the tone is extremely cordial, almost overly formal.
