Hi All,

Good evening and happy new year.

I am in need of a T1 apartment in Faro, specifically long term rentals.

Tried all platforms (Idealista, FB marketplace, etal), but none of them worked.

Please help if you know someone that has one.

Regards,

JohnnyPT

Hi, Welcome.

In the Algarve, it is very difficult to find long-term rentals. Landlords prefer to rent the high season (April to September) separately.

Hello JohnnyPT,

Good evening.

I cannot thank you enough for responding.

Just to be clear, this happens only in Algarve and not every part of Portugal, yes?

If that is the case, what do you suggest?

I intend to relocate to Porto after my masters in the Algarve, hence my reason for asking.

Thanks.

Regards,

JohnnyPT

In the rest of the country it is easier, although new rents are overpriced in the main city centres.

If you are a student in Faro then your institution will probably be able to advise you best as it must be the same problem as faced by all students studying there who do not have family there.   Also the are several online sites dealing specifically with Faro Student's accommodation.

You have 9 university residences in Faro. Here are the contacts. You should find out, but I think there is an applying process at the beginning of each academic year. I don't know if there'll be any room available in January...
