ESL Teacher

Hello,

My name is Carmelo Modica and I am the head teacher at a language school in a company called NIIME (Scientific Research Institute of Molecular Electronics), which is also known as Mikron. We would like to hire two native speakers of English who have studied Russian to work as an English teacher for us for at least a year. We are in Zelenograd, a small town in the Moscow region. Zelenograd is officially part of Moscow, but it is located about half an hour northwest of the main city. Our company has an English school where we do lessons for anyone who wants them, and since we are located right next to Mikron, the majority of our students are engineers.

No experience is required for the job as I teach new teachers everything they need to know in a few hours as well as allow them to sit in during any of my lessons if they want to. What is required is that the teachers have at least an elementary knowledge of the Russian language, as English won't help much with daily life here. The job is honestly very easy and no one has had any problem getting started. Most of our students already know English quite well and are mainly interested in having conversations with someone who can correct their errors.

I am from the USA and have been working at Mikron for about a decade. Zelenograd is the perfect place for a foreigner, since it is very similar to most European towns. There are three malls, three cinemas, a bowling alley, several gyms, a few good restaurants and even fast-food chains such as KFC and Burger King. Most people in Zelenograd do not speak English well, so it is a better town than Moscow for anyone wanting to practice and improve their Russian. There is a fast train that goes from Zelenograd to Moscow in 25 minutes. We also have a subway station here. Having travelled across Russia, I can say that Zelenograd is the best place in Russia to live in, or at least in the top three.

We are offering 70 thousand rubles (after taxes) a month, plus an apartment paid for by the company. The apartment will be European-style (i.e. not Soviet) and within walking distance of the school. We will pay for the plane tickets to Russia and back to your country. It will be 100 academic hours per month, with an academic hour being 45 minutes. Any extra hours will be paid for on top of that (i.e. 800 rubles per ac. hour), but it is your decision whether to work extra hours. We will take care of the visa and will provide a health insurance policy, all paid for by the company.
