Are Pichinca and Austro still preferred for ATM use in Cuenca? What is the word on using JEP Atms?

@antoniodistefano9... Withdrawing money at Pichincha & JEP banco automatico machines from non-associated (US, Can, Euro, Asia) accounts can cost you upwards of $5 a transaction... Banco del Austro has one of the lowest ATM fees I am aware of, at $1.50. Connections between online banking networks in South America and the ATM / Interac networks in North America and elsewhere can occasionally go down. The Ecuadorean bank in question can also sometimes have its own network problems, particularly if your debit card is associated with a Visa or MasterCard insurance/points network. If your card doesn't work at one banks debit machines, try another banks until things get sorted out.
