Medication and Pharmacies

I take a prescription medication for a thyroid condition. I wondering if I need a prescription for these meds. The meds are common and non illicit. And if I do need a prescription, how easy is it to get or find a doctor. Also are meds far cheaper in Colombia?

Any advice will be helpful. I just need general info or tips; nothing specific to my condition or meds (unless you have a thyroid disorder too we can commiserate!).

Thanks

In general medications are cheaper, but not all!  You also may not need a prescription, many medicines are available over the counter at a farmacia.  But without knowing your exact medicines no one can tell you if you need a prescription or not.

Here's some links that may help, this first a company offering home delivery in major Colombian cities:

A page showing how to get the prices for meds from this same company:

I too have thyroid problems.  I was able to find a Doctor who speaks english and also monitors my blood pressure.  The total three medications for blood pressure and thyroid cost me around $ 12,000 COP per month.  The Doctor gives me four months of prescriptions before i have to go back to see the Doctor for monitoring.
