1040 Tax form for K1 visa question...

So you want to submit a request to the US government state dept, that based on your US citizenship you are petitioning the US government to issue a visa to your Colombian fiance yet you don't want to show you SS identification, the MAIN and PRIMARY form to prove that your a US Citizen to a government embassy in Bogota????

Yes of course you need to show it otherwise what are you hiding, this is what the Embassy is thinking and would most likely outright reject the application.

BTW - And your on the hook for 10 years when she arrives in the USA, tread lightly and carefully. It is all tracked via you SS number.

He is on the hook for ten years, should she go on social services, PLUS whatever a slimy Lawyer and bleeding heart judge forces  him pay to support her for who knows how many years, should the marriage end

Actually,

The financial sponsor’s obligations under the Affidavit of Support end only when one of four things happen:

The death of either spouse.

The spouse seeking a green card becomes a U.S. citizen.

The spouse seeking a green card has worked for 40 quarters in the United States.

The spouse seeking a green card moves out of the United States permanently.

SO, the spouse COULD live with another man or family member it they are in the US and the obligation would not end until having worked for 40 quarters. So a spiteful exspouse COULD bleed you until one of you dies, in theory.

But from what I understand, if it is like Canada, it is only if she goes on Social Services, which they would deduct from your earnings.

So if she is living with family or another man or working , and not on welfare or food stamps, or medicaire, you wouldnt owe the government anything.

However, she could still go to a lawyer and in a civil court, sue you for half of the acrued assets during your time together, plus ALimony. This would be in addition to any amounts you owed to the Government,

Just like with a US wife in a divorce.

I don't know from personal experience, fortunately. I made sure my wife got her citizenship asap and so was protected from the Governmental aspect.

Civil court seems to me to be the best lawyer wins usually. In my first divorce (and hopefully last) I made out like  a champ, financially anyway.

At the end of the day you pays your money and you takes your chances. I won the lottery with my paisa.
