• Are they naturalized Brazilians'?.
• Do they have Brazilian family?
• Do they live in Brazil now?.
• Do they have any residence in Brazil?
• Do they have a VISA of any type?
• What are their plans moving forward if this is possible

Was held once in Rio de Janeiro's  "County Jail" , awaiting extradiction by British Authorities.

A cell mate told him he could father a kid in Brazil and avert extradition. 

So he impregnated some Brazilian maid, gave her a son (Michael, Nick Reynolds), and avoided extradition. He lived with her for some time.

Eventually, on old age, he turned himself in. Probably run out of funds.

07/26/23  I have a friend who Uncle was a very famous Brazilian Oswald Aranha. He was asking if throughly this connection could he get Brazilian citizenship or residency. This would be called citizenship by descendant. Thanks for your responses

Not an uncle:  I believe that's too distant a relationship.  If one of your friend's parents is/was Oswaldo Aranha's brother or sister, was a Brazilian citizen at the time your friend was born, and your friend can prove it, he should contact the nearest Brazilian Consulate with the question and the proof.  Citizenship laws for foreign-born children of Brazilian citizens have changed several times since the end of World War II, so a lot will depend on the year of your friend's birth.

As far as I know, you can have the brazilian citizenship by birth

a) if you were born in Brazil

b) if you were born abroad and have at least one parent who is a brazilian citizen.

Article 12. The following are Brazilians:

I – by birth:

a) those born in the Federative Republic of Brazil, even if to foreign parents, as long as they are not in the service of their country;

That should mean you can give the brazilian citizenship only to your children, but NOT to your granchildren, nor nephews.

I have been lucky that my maternal grandmother was born in Brazil, so she was a brazilian citizen jus solii,

I've never been in Brazil, ever. My mother, neither. I was able to claim the brazilian citizenship AFTER my mother claimed her.
