All banks are much the same but look at the smaller ones rather than the big one's. Or a credit union.

NAB has a fee free bank account, I am not aware of any of the other banks offering this other than having a minimum of such and such amount coming in each month or an actual fee attached to it.

Plenty of NAB branches and ATMs, we never had a problem.

If I were you I wouldn't use the bank for your initial transfer of funds as they offer poor exchange rates try a foreign exchange provider instead!
