South African IT Professional Seeking Work in Australia

Hi everyone! 🇿🇦🇦🇺


My husband is an experienced IT Support / End User Support specialist currently living and working in South Africa. We are researching the possibility of relocating to Australia and would really appreciate advice from South Africans or other expats who have successfully made the move.


His experience includes:

• IT Support / Helpdesk

• End User Support

• Desktop Support

• Systems Support

• Hardware & Software Support

• Networking / Infrastructure Support


We would especially like to hear from anyone who found an IT job in Australia while still living overseas.


Which job sites, recruiters or companies worked well for you? Were Australian employers open to interviewing candidates from overseas? Are there particular cities or industries with better opportunities for experienced IT Support professionals?


Any genuine experiences, advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. 🙏

I’ll definitely have a read through it. We’re currently exploring options for my husband, who has 15+ years of IT Support / End User Support experience. We’re still based in South Africa and don’t have an Australian visa yet, so our main challenge is finding an employer who is willing to sponsor an appropriate work visa.
