Apply at the American Embassy or the nearest consulate.

You apply for B1/B2 tourist visa with the US Consulate in London. Google the website. It will walk you through. So does travel.state.gov which is an official site.  Collect socalled binding ties which show that you intend to return - contracts/leases, employment related contract, ...., have an intinerary for your trip, be able to show how you will finance it, if visiting family/friends get a written invitation. Do not book flights/hotels prior to receiving your visa. Enjoy your trip!

Hi

Just go to the US Embassy and apply.
They may ask you if you do have funds for you weeks stay.
If you are travelling on a UK Passport, less questons will be asked.
Anything else , might cause a problem.
