Recognition of foreign qualifications in the United Arab Emirates

Hello everyone,

Were your professional qualifications recognised in the United Arab Emirates? What country did you complete your qualifications in? What profession are you in?

Did you have to go through any formalities to get your qualifications recognised, such as to have them translated?

If your qualifications weren't recognised, were there any additional tests or exams you had to complete before you were able to practice your profession in the United Arab Emirates or continue with your studies?

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Hi Prisc. Have a master degree, so was enough. Needed to translate it. Tnxx......
Greetings
My  experience
I am a  civil  engineering  degree  holder working in  Abu Dhabi. Here  in UAE  almost two decades.   At the beginning,  i worked  for  a private  company  and  required  my certificate  to be attested by foreign  ministry of my country (Sri  Lanka)  ,  then  UAE  embassy.   When I come  to UAE, from Foreign  Ministry attestation is required.

When I joined  a  Government  Organization  in 2000, they requested  equivalency  certificate to  my  degree in UAE  and  got  it through  Ministry of  Education.  Require  to  fulfill their  requirements.  Latest  requirements  can  be obtained  from  the  MOE  website.

Healthcare  certificate   holders  require  HAAD certificate in Abu Dhabi  or  Dubai.

Regards,
Hi.

It all depends on the country that you attained your qualifications from and the profession you intend entering. Could you provide me further info.

Hi Priscilla, I have Electrical Engineering Degree from Pakistan, To practice in UAE as an engineer visa, employee's degree should be attested from his country UAE Embassy. that's all.
good morning.....for me as a physician....we have to do exam in ministry of health to get a license...it is not easy exam,,,,this is for medical staff.....i do not know about other careers..i think teachers have exam too
Get all your qualifications attested from your local government before your move. this will help you once you look for work. When you apply for a visa only attested qualifications will help you. Sometimes if you try and attest from the UAE it will take many weeks and you might loose the job opportunity
Hello Priscilla my qualifications are from the UK. Apart from having them attested I did not face much difficulty.
