Hello All/Amal,
I live in Ankara with my teenager children. We just came to Turkey in September, so still feels pretty new, especially due to the pandemic we spend most of our time inside 😐 and school is all online so minimal social interactions and opportunities, and zero chance for traveling.
My kids are not loving the experience. Any ideas? Also due to this fact they are less than excited about learning Turkish.... basically trying their hardest to recreate their world from the USA in our apartment.
Thanks for your suggestions!
Ayla
Hello, am Agnes from Uganda am also new in turkey and am staying in istabul . I hope to meet new friends and am currently searching for a job like house helper , nanny or baby sitter am experienced and lovely. Thank you
Hello, I am Will from Lancashire 🇬🇧 hoping to relocate to Bodrum once travel is possible and the pandemic has been adequately resolved. My Filipina girlfriend and her two children will be joining me once I am there. She is a qualified Carer and housekeeper and would be seeking work in the Bodrum area.
Hi Ayla. I am also here from USA in Istanbul. It's been a bit challenging with the pandemic. There are some great nature in Ankara especially if you have access middle east technical university forest and lake. I'm. Not sure if it's members only. Where you can do hiking and biking.
Or küğlu park ( swan park ) is beautiful and more relaxing.
Seymenler park is another nice walking or piknic park. Unfortunatly during this pandemic we are limited everywhere in the world pretty much with where we can go but hopefully getting the fresh air will help.
Hello guys, I'm from Colombia, nice to meet you! I have been living here 1 year, I'm looking forward to learn Turkish and if you would like to practica Spanish you can contact me.
Good afternoon everyone, I hope that you are well and safe in these often troubling times.
We own a small property in the mountains near to Dalaman, hoping to use it more and more as retirement gets forever closer, I find the people warm and welcoming and the countryside is beautiful.
I understand only a little of the language - but will get there.
Hope to enjoy the forum, best regards, Graham.
Hello, my name is Ghina and I’m a civil engineer. I don’t live in Turkey, but I want to move there if I can find a job in my field. I’m a fresh graduate but I had a few internship to help me gain experience and I’m currently working on my master’s thesis. Not only the huge worldwide pandemic affected my career, but also the economical crisis happening in Lebanon made finding a job nearly impossible. There is no hope to work there so if anyone knows a company that is hiring kindly let me know, or anything that can help me with my job hunting.

I love traveling and discovering the world. It's my favorite hobby 🌝, i have a long list of places to visit before living this World 😄. I have been in Casablanca (Morocco) and Sao Paulo, Rio Preto, Riberao, Campos do Jordao... (Brazil), and both were wonderful experiences. One day a friend told me about Cappadoce and i literally fell in love 😍😍😍. And now i have decided to move there Insh'Allah. I have a master degree in Biological science and 5 years experience in medical research and Medicinal Plants (Phatmacology). I don't know if finding a job before moving is possible or maybe if someone have a different way to propose me it would be nice.

The health facilities in Turkey are pretty good. As long as you take out travel insurance before you go, this will cover you in an emergency. You may also want to take out a cover, which includes Covid.

Hi! My name is Wajeeha Shah and I am from Karachi, Pakistan. By profession, I am a Software Engineer and currently working with a US company remotely from home. I am looking for some smart advice from pals to help me start everything from zero. Like renting an apartment, buying stuff, clothes, groceries. etc. Thanks in Advance.
It is not big issues here , it is routine and easy as everywhere, Yes but for IT sector employment , language spoken by you and related issues matter a lots , my brother bought an apartment in Istanbul , working in Jeddah since last 15 years , went USA thrice as senior IT specialist, now ready to visit Istanbul Turkey, facing challenges because he doesn't know Turkish language, so language is big issue to establish here
Best of luck
Good morning,
We are thinking of retiring in Alanya next year or so. It would be greatly appreciated if you could share the cost of living there. We plan to buy a villa to get a citizenship. We would like to get info for family of 2 and a large breed dog : maintenance of villa and utilities, property taxes, health insurance, car expenses, 2 cell phones, internet, food, any other expenses to consider.
Thank you very much!
