I haven't been to Ranco yet, but have friends who live there. The reviews are mixed, but it's definitely one of the better compounds.

It's near a Tamimi Supermarket on Pylon Street, and that's good!

Been there as a guest quite a few times, plenty of social activities and very friendly, I would stay there no problem. Are you batchelor status cos the apartments are quite small and are like a holiday camp challet arrangement but I believe the villas are excellent, married status.
You will be ok there and I am well jealous.
My compound is about a zillion years behind Ranco.

Moestavern is spot on, and as a guest myself I also enjoyed the place.

Been there for a few years nice place a bit old but they are up dating. Nice Rest, onsite store is ok, Coffee Shop & Monthly Events better then most places. Lots of invites to embassy events thru other residents
