Where to buy home theater equipment

Hey all-

Im looking for a store in Riyadh that sells quality home theater equipment (more specifically, a decent A/V receiver that supports HDMI passthrough switching with at least 3 inputs and one output), as the items eXtra carries is a no go... Also looking for speakers to match (not sure if I can get Polk here or not....). Looking for this sooner than later...

Any help is appreciated.

Not an expert on the A/V equipment details, but if you have tried extra (and simlar malls) then your next bet should be the maker's showrooms (like that of samsung or sony).

Extra do have some descent equipment in there and also good prices - but check them online first as they do have some odd items in there with randomly high prices

Not an expert for Riyadh locations but I checked online there is one Sony world Showroom in Granda Mall. Try google for location near Olaya.

Hey I know that there are Bose audio showrooms as well in the Kingdom if you are into those products.

Looking for something a bit more flexible than Bose... Have 3 devices I need to switch through a single HDMI out and still maintain the audio quality im looking for.... Looking for either Sony or Panasonic / Polk setup (too bad I cant get Cerwins here...)

There are actually a few places you can go to build a decent system.

Polk is available at a store called Audio Video Corner, which is located on Olaya. They have an ok selection but won't let you hear them before purchasing. I wanted a pair of bookshelf speakers, and even though they had a 5.1 set up in their showroom, they couldn't figure out how to set the output to only the front set of speakers.

Good quality amps and AVRs are pretty expensive here. But I found great deals at E-Max (located on King Abdullah rd). They have a few Denon AVRs for under SR1000 and also carry Harman Kardon AVRs.

For speakers, I'd recommend checking out a store called Archimedia. It's located on Tahlia and carries B&Ws. You can listen to the speakers in store and the salemen are very knowledgeable and helpful.

I ended up buying a Denon AVR and paired it with a pair of B&Ws. Let me know if you have any other questions.
