Doing business in Saudi Arabia

Julien

Hi,

are foreign investors welcome in Saudi Arabia?

Is it complicated to register a company in Saudi Arabia? What is the procedure?

What is the corporate tax rate in Saudi Arabia?

Is it easy to recruit?

Any advice you would share with us?

Thank you very much for your participation,

Julien

Hi Julien,

Foreign investors are definitely welcome here and it's not that complicated to register your business here. The laws are quite simple to register here and the tax rate varies from 20 - 35% depending on the nature of the business.

This website will help you answer a couple of your questions.  http://www.sagia.gov.sa/en/

The hidden truth is that even though Saudi Arabia promotes as a investor friendly country, their main concern is to bring in large production and manufacturing industries that can benefit the country and it's population.

Regarding the workforce, it's quite easy to recruit and the labor here is comparatively cheap. The only concern would be that finding specialists is difficult.(e.g. a 3D animator wouldn't be easy to find)

The language comes as a major barrier as the proficient you are in Arabic, the easier it is for you to progress. This goes specially when you are dealing with government institutes.

I hope this helps & contact me if you need to know more.

Julien
