Tuition

Hey all! I am an expat mom looking to provide assistance in mastering the english language to those that need it. My only problem is that the legality of this choice lies in a bit of a gray area. Private tuition has been criminalised and yet I can find thousands of expats advertising their teaching services. I even read an article on the Arab news detailing the amounts spent by Saudis on private tuition, so you can see why this has become a rather confusing subject for me. I need to know if this law pertains to school teachers who opt to tutor students privately afterschool, which I understand is unethical, or to everyone in general. Thank you!

The law actually applies to everyone.  It is impacts people on dependent visas worse than the moonlighting, as they are not supposed to work in the first place - period!.

Yes there are ads all over the place and Saudis are spending money on it.  It still doesn't mean its legal.  People are playing the probability i.e. what is the chance of something happening to me while I do this?  and the chance of being caught if you are visiting someone in their home and not holding classes in a relatively public place with 10-12 students, is remote.   However, the risk is still there - as you can see in the newspaper stories of people getting caught for this.
